DLA Piper appoints new partner to its international Energy and Infrastructure Projects practice
Following the recent appointments of several new partners to DLA Piper’s Energy and Infrastructure practice; DLA Piper today announces its latest partner appointment, Nikhil Markanday, who will join its Projects team (part of its International Finance practice group) based in London.
Joining from King & Spalding, Nikhil brings with him over 20 years’ experience advising clients on major energy and infrastructure projects across the EMEA region.
At DLA Piper, Nikhil will support the International Projects team on cross-border mandates, with a particular focus on project finance in Europe and the Middle East, and the wider Energy and Infrastructure sector team.
This appointment follows the recent appointments in the London of Derwin Jenkinson and Steven Bryan (both from Paul Hastings) and Paul Doris (from Brown Rudnick), who all focus on energy and infrastructure mandates, and Brian Youn in Seoul (from Milbank LLP).
Colin Wilson, International Co-Chair of DLA Piper’s Finance practice commented: “Over the last 12 months, our Finance group has made several strategic hires, and Nikhil's appointment is the latest to further strengthen our International Projects team and our wider Energy and Infrastructure practice. Nikhil brings a strong track record across the EMEA region and, coupled with his project finance experience, knowledge and impressive client roster, he will support our strategy of providing seamless cross-border counsel to our clients across the Projects business.”
