DLA Piper partner Thanos Matthai named one of New England’s New Leaders in the Law by Law.com

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that partner Thanos Matthai was named a 2023 New Leader in the Law by Law.com as part of its inaugural New England Legal Awards. The list honors lawyers under age 40 who have excelled in their legal practice, in client service and cultivation, in service to bar associations and in pro bono work.

A partner in DLA Piper’s Boston office, Matthai advises institutional real estate investment advisors, REITs, investment funds and developers on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions across the United States. He regularly works on property acquisition, development and financing transactions for single properties and large portfolios, and he has a particular focus on joint ventures and complex financing structures. His clients invest in and develop properties in a variety of asset classes, including multi-family, industrial/logistics, retail, office, lab/life science and senior living properties.

As part of his pro bono practice, Matthai helped DLA Piper establish a limited-assistance representation housing law clinic on a monthly basis in conjunction with Greater Boston Legal Services to help low-income tenants facing evictions in preparing pleadings and responses.
