DLA Piper advises team.blue on the acquisition of Dutch e-commerce hosting specialist Hipex

DLA Piper has advised team.blue on the acquisition of Dutch e-commerce hosting specialist Hipex. Hipex will be joining forces with e-commerce specialist Hypernode which is also part of team.blue. Hypernode is internationally known for their managed e-commerce cloud hosting solutions for Magento, Shopware and Akeneo with the focus on scalability. Hipex offers strong, performance-based hosting solutions for e-commerce software.

With the acquisition of Hipex, Hypernode stands to strengthen their position on the international market as a powerful e-commerce hosting specialist that offers the perfect solution for web shops of every size.

Team.blue is a leading digital enabler for companies and entrepreneurs present in 15 countries. The group was created by merging Combell Group, TransIP Group and Register Group in 2019. Team.blue serves over two million customers in Europe and has more than 1,000 experts to support them.

Hipex burst onto the Dutch e-commerce scene in 2008 as a supplier of e-commerce hosting with the emphasis on performance and innovation. Their platform services e-commerce agencies, well-known clients such as ANWB, Lamp & Licht, Swiss Sense, PME Legend, My Jewellery as well as thousands of smaller web shops. They offer support for e-commerce solutions such as Magento, WooCommerce, Prestashop and Shopware.

This transaction follows team.blue’s acquisition of SuperHosting, a Bulgarian market leader specializing in professional web hosting, as well as the acquisition of Webnode, a pan-European website builder operating predominantly in the CEE region and Greek Enartia group. In the context of these transactions, the DLA Piper team led by partner Dr Nils Krause was also able to prove its M&A expertise in the software and IT sector.
