Pay transparency update and review of BB Expert Talk

The BB Expert Talk took place on 8 May 2024. Senior counsel Dr Hans-Peter Löw and associate Cora Sprengart from DLA Piper spoke with Saskia Steffen (Pflüger Rechtsanwälte GmbH) on the topic of “Pay transparency à la Brussels – What is coming and what needs to be done?”

After a brief overview of the current labour law regulations on pay transparency, the participants took a deep dive into the new provisions of the Pay Transparency Directive. They talked about non-discriminatory pay systems, pre-employment pay transparency, employees’ right to information, regular reporting obligations and joint pay assessments, as well as sanctions and enforcement. Finally, they answered questions from the audience from both the employer and employee perspective.
