4:30 – 5:30 pm CT: Networking Reception
We are delighted to extend an invitation to you for our upcoming event, “Timely Topics for Real Estate Funds and REITs,” hosted by DLA Piper & Crowe. This event is designed to address topics of immediate relevance to your firms, including pertinent legal, tax, and reporting/finance aspects and considerations.
Real estate fund and REIT management teams face a constantly evolving regulatory landscape. Various topics relevant to tax and accounting/finance/compliance professionals operating in this sector must be appropriately understood, and leadership teams must develop effective tax planning/structuring and financial reporting policies to safeguard their organizations from the financial, reputational, legal, and operational risks associated with these complex rules and promulgations. In this session, we will walk through various decision points including those around fund formation, real property contributions, capital structuring, and foreign capital sources, among others, all in a relaxed atmosphere fostering collaborative conversation.
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Describe the various structures available to form a real estate investment vehicle and raise capital.
- Identify the pros and cons and related considerations involved in utilizing a REIT structure versus a partnership structure for a real estate fund.
- Summarize various forms of property contributions and exchanges and their related tax consequences and considerations.
- Describe the impact of a real estate investment vehicle’s equity offering structure on its financial reporting.
We look forward to your participation and the valuable discussions that will ensue.
CLE credit will be offered for this event.
