Dean Dalke is a partner in the firm's Vancouver office where he is a member of the firm’s Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations Group. His practice is focused on commercial and civil disputes and regulatory matters.

Dean brings over 15 years of litigation experience in serving his clients who include a wide range of businesses such as large corporations, forestry and energy companies, First Nations, and high-net worth individuals in a variety of industries, including forestry and energy.

Dean’s clients benefit from his advice in a variety of areas particularly contractual, shareholder, partnership disputes and real estate disputes as well as professional negligence, employment, energy, administrative and regulatory matters. Dean is also a member of the firm’s Japan practice group and regularly advises Japanese clients doing business in Canada.

He has represented clients before all levels of courts in British Columbia, including the BC Supreme Court ‎and the BC Court of Appeal and before administrative tribunals such as the Forest Appeals Commission. ‎He is also experienced in alternate dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration, and seeks ‎opportunities to resolve disputes early and cost effectively.‎

Dean’s experience in forestry matters includes stumpage assessments under the Forest Act, wildfire cost recovery under the Wildfire Act, injunctions in natural resource disputes, and a variety of commercial disputes between forest industry participants including fibre supply and quality disputes.

In 2014, Dean was named one of the Lexpert® Rising Stars: Leading Lawyer Under 40.

Before completing his articles, Dean was a law clerk to three justices of the BC Court of Appeal. After joining the firm, Dean spent a year in Japan where he obtained a masters degree in international business and economic law from Kyushu University.
