Heather Treacy, K.C. named Co-chair of the Canadian Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations group

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to announce that Heather Treacy, K.C. has been appointed Co-chair of the Canadian Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations group.

Heather is a highly sought after and nationally recognized counsel with a practice ‎focused on civil litigation and dispute resolution.‎ With over 30 years of experience acting for clients in complex multi-party litigation and ‎disputes, Heather has extensive experience with ‎negotiations and ‎mediation in an impressive range of matters. She frequently appears before Trial and Appellate Courts in several jurisdictions, including, Alberta, Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of ‎Appeal and various tribunals.‎ Heather also has specific expertise in Indigenous law and ‎has been involved in several precedent setting cases and has been recognized as an eminent lawyer by Chambers Canada, Legal 500, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, Best Lawyers and Benchmark Canada, among others.

In 2014, Heather was also named one of WXN’s Top 100, Canada’s Most ‎Powerful Women and in 2016, she was a Women in Law Leadership (WILL) Award winner in the ‎‎“Leadership in the Profession in Private Practice” ‎‎category.‎

‎Since joining DLA Piper, Heather has held a number of management roles, including serving as Managing Partner of the Calgary office from 2013 to 2019 and as an ‎‎elected member of the Executive Committee from 2019 to 2023. Heather currently chairs the Canadian firm’s pro bono committee. ‎‎
