DLA Piper advises Valhalla Ventures in raising US$66 million fund

DLA Piper advised Valhalla Ventures (Valhalla), an early-stage investment management firm focused on deeptech and gaming, in raising a US$66 million venture capital fund.

Valhalla will use the funds to invest in seed-stage companies in deeptech, such as materials science, biology, space technology and much more, as well as gaming firms with an emphasis on social experiences. The firm has already invested in 15 startups since early 2022 and will continue to make new investments until early 2025.

“Yoni Tuchman, Imri Eisner and the entire DLA Piper team have been instrumental in guiding our firm to where it is today from fund formation to deals advisory. They’ve been invaluable counsel and most importantly, great human beings to work with,” said Rohan Pujara, one of Valhalla’s managing partners.

“It was a pleasure to work with Valhalla on this fundraise, which will provide the firm with sufficient capital to pursue investments in their target industries of gaming and deeptech,” said Yoni Tuchman, the DLA Piper partner who led the fund formation team.

In addition to Tuchman (Los Angeles), the DLA Piper fund formation team included partner Aalok Virmani (Chicago) and associates David Pennant (Philadelphia) and Michael Huseby (Seattle). Partner Imri Eisner (New York) represents Valhalla in its deal work.

The firm’s global investment funds team provides a dynamic, integrated service to sponsors, fund managers and institutional investors, supported by the firm’s international tax and regulatory networks. The team advises clients on the full spectrum of private investment funds, all major investment strategies and all stages of a private investment fund's life cycle.
