DLA Piper Canada welcomes Evan Oikawa

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP welcomes Evan Oikawa to the firm’s Calgary office as associate in the Employment and Labour group.

Evan practices employment law and has considerable experience with trial preparation, legal ‎research, oral advocacy, alternative dispute resolution, mediating disputes and advising large employer associations.

After graduating the University of Alberta Faculty of Law‎, Evan worked for the Alberta Public Service where he gained significant courtroom experience representing the ‎government in employment-related cases. In this role, he advocated for clients facing difficult and vulnerable ‎situations, and successfully mediated dozens of employer-employee disputes. He also acted for the ‎government in negotiations with large employer associations relating to policy and regulation, and served ‎in mentorship and leadership roles. ‎
