DLA Piper advises Société Générale on Joint Venture with Mitsubishi HC Capital Group

DLA Piper has advised Société Générale group on a joint venture between its operational leasing and fleet management subsidiary, ALD, and Mitsubishi HC Capital and Bangkok Mitsubishi HC Capital in Thailand. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.

Bangkok Mitsubishi HC Capital's current vehicle leasing portfolio will be transferred to the joint venture, which will offer a multi-brand operational leasing and fleet management business with related mobility services for corporate customers. The joint venture will aim to extend its reach to ALD's large international customers, other multinational companies and local Thai companies. Thailand is the second largest market in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), after Indonesia.

DLA Piper previously advised ALD in Malaysia on its joint venture with Mitsubishi, establishing a multi-brand, full service operational leasing and fleet management business for corporate clients.

The DLA Piper team was led by Paris based Corporate partner Sonia de Kondserovsky, and supported by Counsel Virginie Julien, Senior Associate Natalia Li. Merger control aspects of the deal were advised on by Litigation and Regulatory partner Edouard Sarrazin and Counsel Céline Espesson.
