DLA Piper partners Bryan Connolly, Mariah DiGrino and Maxine Hicks receive 2022 Lawyers in Real Estate awards from Connect CRE

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that partners Bryan ConnollyMariah DiGrino and Maxine Hicks were honored by Connect CRE with 2022 Lawyers in Real Estate awards. Each year, the publication highlights a select group of real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in both their practice and the larger community.

Connolly, who serves as managing partner of DLA Piper’s Boston office, was one of 10 lawyers recognized in the Boston & New England category. He concentrates his practice on real estate development, acquisitions and dispositions, finance, joint ventures, land use and zoning. Connolly has represented owners and developers throughout the entire development life cycle, from due diligence, acquisition and permitting through joint venture financing and construction loan financing, to disposition and recapitalization events. He also has experience negotiating development agreements and land disposition agreements with private parties and public entities.

DiGrino, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, was one of 10 lawyers recognized in the Chicago & Midwest category. She focuses on land use and zoning, public-private financing, public incentives, historic preservation, and community and economic development, as well as general real estate. Her practice involves representation of owners, developers, retailers, investors and public-private partnerships on both the local and national levels. She has experience securing annexation, development, zoning and subdivision approvals, negotiating and implementing public-private development and financing arrangements and public incentives, negotiating historic preservation designations and incentives, performing general and zoning due diligence and property evaluation and negotiating and closing real estate acquisitions and dispositions.

Hicks, who serves as location head of DLA Piper’s Atlanta Real Estate practice, was one of 10 lawyers recognized in the Atlanta & Southeast category. She focuses her practice on real estate development with a particular emphasis on large mixed-use, transit-oriented developments, including destinations for stadiums, entertainment, hospitality, club and resort projects. She represents clients on a wide range of matters related to real estate, transportation, construction, infrastructure development, redevelopment and public incentives. She also advises developers, owners and healthcare providers on real estate issues associated with medical office buildings, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term acute care hospitals and hospital campus projects.
